Scott Walker – 30 Century Man in September
Verve Pictures have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Scott Walker – 30 Century Man on 10th September 2007 priced at £19.99. Director Stephen Kijak’s film traces the remarkable career of Scott Walker, exploring his early days as a jobbing bass player on the Sunset Strip, to mega-stardom in Britain’s swinging 60’s pop scene, and finally to his transformation into a composer: an uncompromising and serious musician working at the peak of his powers.
For the first time ever, the famously reclusive genius grants unprecedented access to his musical process, with exclusive behind the scenes footage of the making of his new album, The Drift, his first album in 10 years. A rare and exclusive interview with the man himself is coupled with interviews with friends, collaborators and fans including, amongst others: David Bowie (the film’s executive producer), Radiohead, Jarvis Cocker, Brian Eno, Damon Albam, Neil Hannon, Marc Almond, Alison Goldfrapp, Richard Hawley and many more.
