Ritchie for King Arthur remake?

Warner Bros. is rumoured to be in talks with Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie to direct the first of a six-film retelling of the King Arthur legend.

Ritchie, currently working on The Man from U.N.C.L.E, was linked to a similar project four years earlier, working with a script by Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge. This project failed to make it to production but now, the director is interested in directing a fantasy adaptation.

Warner Bros. had previously tried to produce a King Arthur project, deemed a remake of John Borrman's 1981 film Excalibur but was pulled for being over budget.
