Release dates for The Matrix 4 and The Flash confirmed by Warner Bros.

At the end of November there was some details revealed about a possible J.J. Abrams directed Superman starring Michael B. Jordan, although details were sketchy about other films on the Warner Bros. slate. However, the studio have just announced the release dates for The Flash and Matrix 4, along with a few other titles.

Currently, The Flash is scheduled for release on July 1, 2022, led by Ezra Miller, while The Matrix 4, starring Keanu Reeves, is set for a May 21, 2021 release. That makes it a full house for Reeves, as it is also the day that Lionsgate’s John Wick 4 arrives in cinemas. The live-action Akira remake has been pulled from Warner’s schedule as it stands.

Carrie-Anne Moss will also be returning for the fourth instalment of The Matrix series, alongside the likes of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris. Lana Wachowski will return to direct.

It was also announced by Warner Bros. that a film about Fred Hampton - co-founder of the Black Panthers - has been given a release date of August 21, 2020.

The fourth instalment of The Conjuring series - set to arrive in cinemas on September 11, 2020 - has been given the name, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Mortal Kombat’s release date has also been moved forward to January 15, 2020.
