Release date changes for Duel, 24 Season Two and The Lower Depths

The 12th August release date for Universal Studios Home Video R1 release of Duel: Collector's Edition is no more, the Spielberg title has once again been completely removed from their schedules with no explanation. (Original Announcement)

Another title removed from the release schedules is the Criterion DVD release of Kurosawa's The Lower Depths. The news here is not all bad, as the reason given for the delay is to source more bonus materials for the release that will now hopefully arrive later this year, though may slip into early 2004.

Some more good news from Criterion is that the Ingmar Bergman Trilogy box set, scheduled for 19th August 2003, will now include a fourth disc containing the 145-minute documentary Ingmar Bergman Makes a Movie. This is a comprehensive five-part look at the making of Winter Light and is being presented in its entirety for the first time outside of Sweden. (Source: (Original Announcement – Now updated)

Fox Home Video have also changed their schedule slightly, though for once we see a DVD release moved forward as 24: Season Two will now debut on 9th September 2003 instead of the original 23rd September 2003 date. (Original Announcement - Now updated)
