Recent Theatrical Releases announced on R1 DVD
As is becoming the norm several recent US Theatrical Releases have been announced for Region 1 DVD within months of finishing their cinematic runs. Here are the details...
Paramount will bring the Ben Affleck/Samuel L Jackson hit Changing Lanes to DVD on September 10th. For the retail price of $29.95 you can expect to find an Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer with English DD5.1 and DD2.0 Surround audio tracks, an Audio Commentary with director Roger Mitchell, "The Making of Changing Lanes" and "A Writer's Perspective" featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, alternate endings, and the Theatrical Trailer.
Warner plan to bring you the recent Eddie Murphy/Robert DeNiro comedy, Showtime, to you on August 13th. Expect to find both 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen and Fullscreen Transfer versions in the shops, both of which will feature an Audio Commentary with director Tom Dey, producer Jorge Saralegui and editor Billy Weber, the HBO First Look special, five Eddie Murphy "Booth Confessionals", 2 extended scenes, the "Premiere Party Sequence", filmographies and Trailers.
Two weeks later on the 27th August Warner will follow up with Queen of the Damned. This release will also be available in both 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen and Fullscreen editions, of which both contain English and French DD5.1 Surround audio tracks, an Audio Commentary with the filmmaking team, 3 featurettes, 20-minutes of additional scenes, 3 full-length Lestat music-videos, the Static X 'Cold' music-video, a still gallery, trailers and more. Both titles carry a retail price tag of $26.95.
Miramax will bring you the Nicole Kidman and Ben Chaplin thriller Birthday Girl to DVD on August 13th. Presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with DD5.1 Audio you will also find a Behind-the-scenes featurette and the "Somethin' Stupid" music video on this otherwise extra-less disc that retails for $29.99.
