Recent R1 Announcements

Several recent Theatrical Releases have been announced for Region 1 DVD releases and here is a round up of what to expect...

Warner will release a Special Edition of Schwarzenegger's latest Collateral Damage on 24th July with an RRP of $26.95. Expect the film to presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English and French DD5.1 Surround audio tracks while extra features include audio commentaries by Schwarzenegger and director Andrew Davis, "The Hero In A New Era" interview featurette, the HBO First Look special, additional scenes, filmographies and the theatrical trailer as well as some DVDROM extra features.

Fox will bring you High Crimes on August 27th with an RRP of $26.95. Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with DD5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround Audio tracks you will also find an audio commentary by director Carl Franklin with additional commentary by Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, seven mini-featurettes, a storyboard-to-screen comparison, and the theatrical trailer.

Paramount are all set to bring you Mel Gibson's latest effort, We Were Soldiers, on August 20th with an RRP of $29.95. Look for a 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer with DD5.1 EX and DD2.0 Surround audio options while extra features consist of an audio commentary with director Randall Wallace, the "Getting It Right" featurette, 10 deleted scenes with optional commentary, and the theatrical trailer.

New Line Cinema have announced John Q as the next film to use their Infinifilm technology. Due for release on July 16th with an RRP of $26.99 the disc will feature an Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer with DD5.1, DTS5.1 and DD2.0 Surround Audio tracks while you can expect a range of extra features including filmmaker commentary by Nick Cassavetes, James Kearns, Mark Burg and Roger Stoffers will also be available as an audio option, a documentary titled "Behind the Scenes of John Q", deleted and alternate scenes with optional director commentary, a trailer and DVD-ROM content.
