R1 Announcements

Anchor Bay have announced the R1 release of Near Dark, the cult vampire film starring Adrian Pasdar and Lance Henrikson. Due for release on September 24th as a two-disc set you can expect to find the film presented in a THX-certified Anamorphic Widescreen transfer with both English DD5.1 and DTS remixes. Extra features include an Audio Commentary with Kathryn Bigelow, a new 47-minute documentary featuring all-new cast and crew interviews, a deleted scene with optional commentary, storyboards, behind-the-scenes and ad material still galleries, trailers and the complete screenplay. Retail will be $29.95.

Fox have announced the R1 release of Ice Age, the recent CG Animated hit. Due for release on 26th November this will be another 2-disc set that will feature both Anamorphic Widescreen and Full-screen transfers, English and French DD5.1 Surround tracks, and a whole host of extra features. These include - Audio Commentary with the directors, the HBO First Look Special, 6 Deleted Scenes with commentary, "Sid on Sid Silhouette" on scenes, "The Making of Ice Age" Documentary, multi-angle scene exploration, "Scrat" interstitials, "Blue Sky" featurette, Design and Sid Character Development still galleries, 3 interactive games, trailers, TV Spots, and the Academy Award-winning animated short "Bunny". You will also find several DVD-Rom extras included for the retail price of $29.95.

Universal have announced the full specifications for the Region 1 DVD release of the Back to the Future Trilogy Box set that will street on December 17th 2002 with an M.A.P of $39.95. This 3-disc set will contain each of the films in both anamorphic widescreen and Full-screen transfer options with Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound. Extra features consist of Audio Commentaries with actor Michael J. Fox, director Robert Zemeckis, producer Neil Canton and producer & screenwriter Bob Gale for all three films, outtakes from all three films, deleted scenes, The Hover Board test, The Making of Back to the Future Featurette, The Secrets of the BTTF Trilogy Special Segment, Universal Animated Anecdotes Fun and interesting facts about the film, Huey Lewis Music Video, production archive, teaser, original theatrical trailers and much more.
