"God Particle" is the next film in the "Cloverfield" series

It looks as though fans of the Clover-verse were correct in their prediction that God Particle will be the third installment in JJ Abrams produced Cloverfield series.

An insider source told TheWrap earlier today that God Particle would be joining Cloverfield and this years 10 Cloverfield Lane in the shared Clover-verse. Not only that, but it looks as though JJ Abrams and his production team at Bad Robot along with Paramount Pictures are looking at releasing a film in the Clover-verse every year.

God Particle has the following plot synopsis:

A team of astronauts aboard a space station find themselves alone after a scientific experiment causes Earth to disappear. When a space shuttle appears, the space station crew must determine if they are friend or foe.

The film stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl and Chris O’Dowd.

God Particle (as it is now known but a name change in possible) is set for a February 24th 2017 release with a special event being held for reporters in New York on Thursday 2nd November. The event will debut some footage from the film. A trailer is expected for follow shortly after within the next few weeks.

As soon as that trailer debuts, we shall share it with you all on the site.
