Queer As Folk Season 1 in October

Warner Home Video have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Queer As Folk: The Complete First Season for 17th October 2005. The provocative series about the lives of twenty-something gay friends, breaks new ground in a city as steely and working-class straight as it gets, Pittsburgh USA. Against this backdrop, their lives and loves unfold. Ambitions soar. Passions collide. Careers struggle. Fates conflict. All 22 episodes from the first season of the critically acclaimed, cutting-edge drama premiere on DVD across 6 discs Exclusively at HMV priced £49.99 RRP.

Based on the British smash-hit series of the same name created by Russell T. Davies (Doctor Who), the American version of Queer As Folk is a sexy and controversial ensemble drama of the funniest order. The action centres around the gay thumpa-thumpa, the tribal throbbing that pervades club Babylon on Liberty Avenue and tackles issues including gay bashing, drugs, casual sex, same sex marriage, AIDS, relationships and friendship but never forgetting that the queers are loud and proud, rude and crude, front and centre.
