Process and Errance in October

Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of two films as part of their French Cine Lumiere Collection of titles for 24th October 2005. Priced at £19.99 each Tartan’s adventures into contemporary French cinema concludes with two young directors who have very contrasting styles. CS Leigh and Damien Odoul

Process
Beatrice Dalle and Guillaume Depardieu star is this disturbing drama about a women’s desire for sexual gratification as she contemplates suicide. With an opening scene that echoes Bergman’s Persona, CS Leigh moves his actress forward through a series of 29 single takes and almost shot without dialogue and creates a unique drama that is both horrific and sublime. With a suitably atmospheric score by John Cale.

Errance
Damien Odoul’s unsparing portrait of a couple in crisis. Set in three different time periods, between 1968 and 1973, an embattled wife struggles to cope with an alcoholic, philandering husband. A claustrophobic drama from the director of Le Souffle and En Attendant le Deluge.

Both films are presented in anamorphic widescreen with Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS Surround. Process is a barebones release, while Errance includes a trailer.
