Paramount in October

Paramount have announced their next batch of Region 2 releases - due on 2 October. There are no real surprises although it's good to see Star Trek: Generations is anamorphic unlike the Region 1 release. One title notable for its absence is Apocalypse Now which was originally scheduled for release on 2 October - I wasn't aware it had been delayed so I'll look into this.

Here's the full rundown:

Barbarella (15), the adult comic adaption starring Jane Fonda will feature a mono DD1.0 soundtrack, an anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer an a theatrical trailer.

Star Trek: Generations is the film which passed the Star Trek movie torch from the original crew on to the Next Generation cast. The disc will feature an anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer and DD5.1 sound. There are NO extras.

The First Wives Club will feature an anamorphic 1.78:1 transfer and DD5.1 sound. The theatrical trailer is also included.

Roman Polanski's film noir, Chinatown will feature an anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer, DD5.1 sound, a theatrical trailer and a retrospective interview with Roman Polanski, Robert Towne and Robert Evans.

To round off, we have Witness starring Harrison Ford. The disc will feature a DD5.1 soundtrack and a 1.78:1 anamorphic transfer. We can also expect a theatrical trailer and an interview with Director, Peter Weir.

Hopefully we should have reviews of all of these discs on-line in the next week or so.
