Noein - The Complete Series in October

Manga have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Noein – The Complete Series on 22nd October 2007 priced at £49.99. Directed by Kazuki Akane (creator of Heat Guy J and director of Escaflowne: The Movie), who describes the 24-episode series as "anime's version of Stand By Me," Noein – To Your Other Self is one of the most innovative anime productions ever made, featuring over 6,000 animation cels shot per episode (twice the average number for a normal animated TV series), combining both traditional 2-D and state-of-the-art 3-D CGI, as well as a lavish musical score performed by a 40-piece orchestra - a first for any Japanese TV series.

A unique, intelligent and thought-provoking sci-fi adventure that applies the concepts of quantum physics theory to a slice-of-life human story of a group of kids who find themselves in an extraordinary situation, Noein started its run on UK DVD earlier this year and so far 3 volumes have been released (featuring the first 14 episodes of the 24 episode series) but – in a move that mirrors their release of Heat Guy J and more recently Tokko - Manga are now releasing a Complete Series box-set with no sign of the remaining individual volumes.

This is great news for fans who’ve yet to start collecting the series (one that has been well received here at DVDTimes) but not so good for those who already have the first three volumes.

The Complete Series box-set offers a choice of Japanese and English DD2.0 Stereo and DD5.1 Surround audio with optional English subtitles. Extras include trailers, bloopers and stills.
