New Macbeth adaptation begins filming, starring Fassbender and Cotillard

Pictures were released this weekend of the new version of Shakespeare tragedy Macbeth, which began filming last week.

The adaptation, starring Academy-Award nominee Michael Fassbender, Academy-Award winner Marion Cotillard and Paddy Considine, is being developed by See-Saw Films and will be distributed in the UK by StudioCanal, while The Weinstein Company will handle US distribution. Principal photography will take place in England and Scotland and last seven weeks.

It is being directed by Australian director Justin Kurzel, best known for his film The Snowtown Murders and the screenplay is adapted from the original Shakespeare play by Jacob Koskoff and Todd Louiso.
