New Hobbs & Shaw trailer: The Rock and The Stath get Fast & Furious

Despite the status, acclaim and success of his films, director David Leitch doesn't quite achieve the praise he perhaps deserves. From Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde, to the John Wick series, he has become a master of putting together stylish, high-adrenaline action films that are a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Judging by the trailers for Hobbs & Shaw so far, this looks like it will be yet another to add to an already impressive CV. The Rock and The Stath are a great pairing and this Fast & Furious spin-off will no doubt be a huge success and could well surpass its parent film in the end. Watch the new trailer for Hobbs & Shaw above - although beware, it's over three minutes long and shows quite a lot of what's in-store.

Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs, a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw, a former British military elite operative, first faced off, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.

But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever – and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent, who just happens to be Shaw’s sister – these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick and Atomic Blonde) directs, with the supporting cast starring Idris Elba, Eiza González, Vanessa Kirby, Helen Mirren and Eddie Marsan.

Hobbs & Shaw roll into UK cinemas on August 2nd.
