New Aquaman trailer: Warner Bros. release 5 minutes of aqua action

Almost every time the DC universe is mentioned it's hard not to notice the dark clouds overhead. That hasn't been helped recently with the rumoured departure of one of their two bona fide stars in Henry Cavill (the other being Gal Gadot - we can all live without Affleck as Batman). DC can at least laugh at little at Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC) which begun tragically this week with Venom.

That aside, there are big hopes for Aquaman and with the release date fast approaching we've been given an extended look at the film with a new trailer. This was the 5 minute trailer showed at SDCC back in July. The idea of a film where most of the dialogue and action takes place in the actual water is pretty high concept and may be a hard sell beyond the hardcore fans, but we'll see (although to be fair the trailer shows a fair bit of land action). Check out the new trailer for Aquaman above to see more.

The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be... a king.

James Wan is directing, with the cast starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson and Nicole Kidman.

Aquaman swims into UK cinemas on December 14th 2018.
