Momentum's first release

Contrary to earlier reports, Momentum's first UK DVD release will not be the Rambo discs!

Aardman Classics is a compilation disc running to around two and a half hours and will feature a number of Aardman Animation's most memorable early output. Aspect ratios/sound formats vary between shorts, but some will feature director's, animator's or editor's commentary tracks. In addition to this, the DVD will be packaged with a 64 page booklet charting the rise of Bristol's famous animation company.

The disc is expected to include the following:

Creature Comforts + Heat Electric, Babylon, Confessions Of A Foyer Girl, Down & Out, Early Bird, Late Edition, On Probation, Palmy Days Sales Pitch, Going Equipped, Ident, Next, War Story, Adam, Humdrum, Loves Me...Loves Me Not, Not Without My Handbag, Owzat!, Pib and Pog, Pop, Stage Fright and Wat's Pig

Aardman Classics will be released on 6 November retailing at £17.99.

On the subject of Momentum we have a little bit of disappointing news. Due to problems experienced with the Region 1 disc, Momentum have decided that they don't want to rush Terminator II: Ultimate Edition onto the shelves this year and will instead hold off until they can be sure of maximum player compatibility. The disc is now scheduled for release on 22 January 2001. A good reason for a delay - and it's very good to see they're taking their releases seriously unlike some Region 2 distributors...
