Masters of Horror Series 2 Vol. 2 in February

Anchor Bay have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Masters of Horror Series 2 Volume 2 on 18th February 2008 priced at £24.99. The second season of the Masters of Horror series concludes with this six disc-set featuring brand new exercises in fear from Tobe Hooper, Tom Holland, Brad Anderson, Peter Medak, Ernest Dickerson and Norio Tsuruta.

The press release lists no extras, but the official Anchor Bay website lists the kind of extensive extras the series has featured in the past.

Directed by Tobe Hooper from a script by celebrated horror and fantasy author Richard Christian Matheson, The Damned Thing stars Sean Patrick Flanery (The Dead Zone) as a small-town sheriff tortured by his tragic past and who now has to deal with a monstrous force that is turning husband against wife, brother against sister, parent against child. An apocalyptic tale of terror, Hooper's latest shocker also stars Marisa Coughlan (I Love Your Work; Pumpkin) and Ted Raimi (Spider-Man 3).

In The V Word, directed by Ernest Dickerson, writer and Masters Of Horror creator Mick Garris (The Shining; The Stand) spins a tale of two teenage boys who break into a mortuary in the hope of seeing a dead body and as a result find themselves attacked by a rampaging vampire, played by Michael Ironside (Scanners).

Written by ‘splatterpunk' pioneer David Schow (The Crow) and directed by Tom Holland, We Scream For Ice Cream concerns Layne Banixter (Lee Tergeson), a man who believes a youthful prank played by him and his friends years ago may be connected to the present-day, systematic murders of those involved by their own children. William Forsythe (Halloween; The Devil's Rejects) co-stars in this chilling adaptation of a short story by John Farris (The Fury).

The Tell-Tale Heart meets The Conversation in Sounds Like, a psychological tale of terror written and directed by Brad Anderson. Listening is everything to quality control supervisor Larry Pearce (Chris Bauer), whose job it is to monitor the telephone conversations of his tech support staff. But when grief over his son's death leads to a supernaturally heightened sense of sound, Larry is forced to take violent action to silence the horrific cacophony in his head.

Unfortunately, a loyal band of Washingtonians, hungry for flesh themselves, are willing to go to any lengths necessary to protect the former president's secret.

In Dream Cruise, directed by Norio Tsuruta, an American lawyer who has fallen in love with the wife of his most valued client is invited to join the couple on a pleasure cruise that soon turns to terror as they discover the watery destiny in store for each of them. Daniel Gillies (Captivity), Ryo Ishibashi (The Grudge 2) and Yoshino Kimura (Sukiyaki Western Django) star in this adaptation of a short story by Koji Suzuki (Dark Water; The Ring) short story.
