Make Mine a Double on Curzon Home Cinema
Curzon Home Cinema has announced Make Mine a Double, a special season of double bills curated by the acclaimed novelist and filmmaker Chris Petit.
Of his season, Petit wrote: "OK. Here’s what I suggest. I propose doing 35 double bills, with a knock-on effect in that the second film of the previous double becomes the first in the next, thus allowing any one film to be paired with two other films. The principle is based on my belief that films are more interesting for not being viewed in isolation and being paired, for rhyming or contrasting reasons, even if it’s only an art movie colliding with a genre picture. This programme allows for a kind of walk through cinema in that it gives you a run of over 30 films that wouldn’t necessarily get linked otherwise. Some pairings are obvious; some not.”
Presented as part of the Museum of Loneliness project, Petit’s extraordinary and unique programming vision - and all the double bills - can now be explored in full on the Curzon website. His latest film, Content ("an ambient 21st century road movie"), has also been made available.
