Lionsgate acquire US rights to The Voices

Distribution studio Lionsgate has acquired the US distribution rights to The Voices, the new film by Persepolis director Marjane Satrapi.

The film, Satrapi's first English language feature, is written by Michael R. Perry and stars Ryan Reynolds, Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick. The film centres around factory worker Jerry, who pines after a woman who works in accounting. As their relationship develops, Jerry unexpectedly finds himself on a sinister, murderous path.

Satrapi made her directorial debut in 2007 with animated feature Persepolis, which is based on her best-selling graphic novel. The film earned Satrapi an Academy Award nomination and the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
