Legendary Japanese Cinema icon joins "Ghost in the Shell" Live Action

News broke earlier this week that Japanese Cinema Icon; Takeshi "Beat "Kitano is joining Scarlett Johansson in the Live Action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell.

This role will be the 69 year old's first English-Language role since his appearance in Brother in 2000.

The Sci-Fi Action Thriller which is being directed by Rupert Sanderss is an adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s original 1989 manga. Johansson is starring as a female special ops cyborg at the head of an elite task force known as 'Section 9' commanded by Kitano's Daisuke Aramaki. With Takeshi Kitano in charge, it looks like no-one will be able to conquer his castle.

Ghost in the Shell is due for release in UK Cinemas on March 31st 2017.
