L'Amant Double (The Double Lover) trailer: François Ozon goes full De Palma

French director François Ozon has never been shy in coming forward and his latest film, L'Amant Double (The Double Lover) certainly delivers in that sense. The film first appeared at last years Cannes Film Festival and received mostly positive reviews, and although it is clearly Ozon's work there are shades of Paul Verhoeven and Brian De Palma to this self-consciously trashy body-double thriller. Take a look at the first UK trailer for L'Amount Double (The Double Lover) above.

The film tells the story of Chloé (Marine Vacth), a fragile young woman, falls in love with her psychoanalyst, Paul (Jérémie Renier) A few months later she moves in with him, but soon discovers that her lover is concealing a part of his identity.

Ozon is responsible for the script which is specifically highlighted as being "freely adapted from Joyce Carol Oates' novel Lives of the Twins." Jacqueline Bisset, Dominique Reymond and Myriam Boyer also feature in the cast.

L'Amant Double (The Double Lover) comes to UK cinemas on June 1st 2018.
