Lady and the Tramp trailer: Justin Theroux and Tessa Thompson star in the first major film release on Disney+
The Disney machine rolls on, racking up record box office numbers and preparing to take over the small screen with the introduction of Disney+ (which won't be arriving in the UK just yet). However, if the loss of Spider-Man from the MCU is confirmed, hopefully it will be the first step towards levelling out the playing field a little. Back to the matter at hand, and Lady and the Tramp is, of course, a remake of the much-loved 1955 animation. Whereas The Lion King was clearly not 'live action' this will feature real dogs, complemented with the use of CGI. Our four-legged friends will be Rose and Monte, with the latter having only been rescued from a shelter about a year ago. That's a narrative Disney can sell all day. Check out the trailer for Lady and the Tramp above, which dropped in the early hours of the morning after showing at D23.
A pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home.
Charlie Bean (The Lego Ninjago Movie) is directing, while Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux will be voicing the two leads (pun intended), with additional voice work from Sam Elliot, Ashley Jensen, Janelle Monáe, and Benedict Wong.
Lady and the Tramp will only be available on Disney+ from November 12, which means unless you are one of the countries receiving the service early, you won't be able to see it.
