Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat to become film

The popular stage musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is to become an animated feature film.

According to BBC, the rights to the musical, co-created by Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Sir Tim Rice, by Sir Elton John's film company Rocket Pictures. All three will act as executive producers of the film.

The musical, which was released on the West End in 1973 and the subject of 2007 TV talent show Any Dream Will Do, has been watched by over 26 million people and earned more than $600m in worldwide takings.

Lord Lloyd-Webber says: "It is now being performed all over the world by a fourth generation of school kids, and a great movie can only help Joseph be part of the lives of many more."
