Turturro is another addition to an already exciting cast
The Batman director Matt Reeves is putting together quite the cast for his upcoming film. And another face has just been added to the roster with the announcement that John Turturro will be playing underground crime boss Carmine Falcone.
Reeves made the announcement last night via Twitter, with Turturro taking on a role previously played by Tom Wilkinson in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, and by John Doman in the Gotham TV series.
Falcone first appeared in Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s Batman: Year One back in 1987, referred to then as ‘The Roman’ and who went on to play a big role in the development of Batman and Catwoman as superheroes in that universe.
Turturro joins an already exciting cast, with the likes of Zoe Kravitz appearing as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred and Robert Pattinson starring as Batman.
The Batman will appear in cinemas worldwide from June 25, 2021.
