John Hughes classics and more from Universal
Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of three long awaited John Hughes classics as part of their High School Year Book promotion. Available to buy from 2nd September 2003 at a retail price of $19.98 each are: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science. Each film has been digitally remastered and will feature the original music, all of which will be presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround audio tracks, with optional English, French and Spanish subtitles. Extra features are limited to Theatrical Trailers and Recommendations (Sixteen Candles offers the latter only). The films will also be available as part of a High School Reunion Collection that carries a retail price of $39.98.

Released the same day is another 80s teen movie going by the name of Three O'Clock High. This one also retails at $19.98 and offers a new Anamorphic Widescreen transfer, English DD2.0 Surround audio, English, French and Spanish subtitles and a Theatrical Trailer.
Finally Universal will release a more recent straight-to-video teen movie, Winter Break at the slightly higher retail price of $24.98 on the same day. Specs for this are as follows...
