Jane Hall in September

inDVD have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Jane Hall for 4th September 2006 priced at £19.99. Broadcast on ITV1 from 12th July, this six part series from Sally Wainwright, the writer of At Home With the Braithwaites is produced by Red Productions whose credits include hugely popular British dramas Clocking Off, Queer As Folk, Linda Green and New Street Law. Jane Hall features a cast including Sarah Smart, Gillian Taylforth, Robert Glenister and Stephen Mangan and will be released as a double disc DVD set on the Monday after the final episode is broadcast.

Jane Hall (Sarah Smart, At Home With the Braithwaites) is shy, hapless and chronically unemployed. She's spent so much time convinced she's an idiot that she's got no idea how loveable, gorgeous and funny she actually is. So after a massive row with her parents, she finally decides to move away from home for the bright lights of London where she signs up as a new recruit to drive double-decker buses!

Jane soon gets mixed up in the vibrant lives of her work colleagues: the bus depot's flamboyant and adulterous Mandy (Gillian Taylforth, Footballers' Wives), her hoodwinked husband Dave (Robert Glenister, Hustle), sexy Steve (Noel Clarke, Dr. Who, Kidulthood), and finds herself in a love triangle with her housemates, the gorgeous Richard (Daniel Lapaine, Muriel's Wedding) and oddball Robert (Stephen Mangan, Green Wing, Confetti).

To top it all Jane has her very own know-it-all alter ego, who only appears to her at the most inappropriate times, with full Broadway style production numbers and slick Matrix special effects – which happen to always be in full and surreal Technicolour.
