James Gunn fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Disney has announced that James Gunn as been fired as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after a series of tweets making light of pedophilia and rape were uncovered on Twitter. Most of the tweets date from 2008-2011.

Alan Horn, the chairman for Walt Disney Studios, released the following statement:

The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him

There is no word as to who will replace Gunn as director.
