Inugami in February

Ventura International have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Inugami for 14th February 2005 priced at £15.99. This is the second title from Ventura International's series of Adness / Kadokawa Japanese horror movies, the production company behind the original version of The Ring.

Based on Masako Bando's best-selling popular novel, "Inugami" tells the story of Akira (Yumi Amami), a young schoolteacher who, upon moving to a remote mountain village, falls in love with a local paper maker Miki Bonomiya (Atsuro Watabe). However, unknown to Akira, the women in the Bonomiya family are guardians of evil spirits known as Inugami. These evil dog spirits need to be protected at all costs, as should they be used for revenge, then the Inugami will run wild through the village looking for blood.

Akira's youthful appearance and her relationship with middle aged Miki stirs up rumours and family problems, and when unexpected tragedy strikes, suspicion and strange events upset the calm community. As the story unfolds an eerie fog begins to cloak the village, but it can no longer hide the secrets of Miki's past….

The film is presented in Widescreen, Japanese with English subtitles giving you a choice of Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS 5.1 Surround.
