Her Smell trailer: Elisabeth Moss stars as a self-destructive rock singer
Elisabeth Moss has firmly established herself as one of the best actresses on both the small and big screen over the past few years. She returned to work with director Alex Ross Perry in Her Smell, which is due to be shown for the first time at TIFF. There's a flurry of films coming out featuring big-name actresses taking on musician roles with Her Smell following on from A Star is Born, Vox Lux and Teen Spirit. A first teaser trailer for the film has been released and you can check it out above.
Becky Something (Moss), the influential lead singer of a popular ’90s alt-rock outfit, struggles with her demons as friends, family, and band mates alike behold her unravelling through a prism of horror, empathy, and resentment. Becky’s self-destruction takes place in claustrophobic backstage hallways, garishly lit dressing rooms, and recording studios as she hurtles towards to the brink.
Perry (Listen Up Philip, Queen of Earth) writes as well as directs, with the supporting cast featuring Cara Delevingne, Dan Stevens, Alex Ross Perry, Amber Heard, Eric Stoltz and Agyness Deyn.
No news on release dates for Her Smell but we'll keep you updated as and when.
