Hell Fest trailer: There's a fairground killer on the loose during Halloween

No, this isn't a trailer for French rock festival of the same name, but a first look at Hell Fest the horror film. There's a definite 80s throwback appeal to this going by the trailer, set in a notoriously scary Halloween fairground with a masked killer on the loose. It could be fun. And, there isn't a jump scare in sight in the trailer. What more can we ask for? Watch the trailer for Hell Fest above if you're brave enough.

A masked serial killer turns a horror themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show. College student Natalie is visiting her childhood best friend Brooke and her roommate Taylor.

If it was any other time of year these three and their boyfriends might be heading to a concert or bar, but it is Halloween which means that like everyone else they will be bound for Hell Fest – a sprawling labyrinth of rides, games, and mazes that travels the country and happens to be in town. Every year thousands follow Hell Fest to experience fear at the ghoulish carnival of nightmares.

Gregory Plotkin (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) is directing, with Amy Forsyth, Reign Edwards and Bex Taylor-Klaus all starring as the three female college students, and a supporting cast featuring Christian James, Roby Attal, Matt Mercurio and Tony Todd.

Hell Fest comes to US cinemas in late September but no news yet on a UK date.
