Good news for David Lynch fans
I know there are many fans of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks who have been anxiously awaiting the appearance of the series on DVD. Well, your wait is almost over as Artisan are set to release the first season on the 4th of December. Full details and price are not available yet, but expect the set to include full frame transfers of every episode of the first season bar the pilot (which is caught up in rights issues), new Dolby Digital and DTS(!) audio tracks, an audio commentary with David Lynch, several featurettes, promo spots and more. I will provide updates on the release as and when they are available.
Coming before then, on the 18th of September to be precise, is another release I’m sure David Lynch’s fans have been looking forward to - See Spot Run. Directed by John Whitesell and starring David Arquette (Scream) and Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile), this comedy sees a mailman looking after a dog which turns out to be an FBI drug-sniffer that has escaped from the witness protection program after becoming the target of an assassination. This based-on-fact (disclaimer – not really) movie was released at cinemas here on the 25th of May.
This Warner release, which will retail at $24.95, features a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, English and French 5.1 DD surround audio tracks, English, French and Spanish subtitles, an audio commentary with the director, "Spot's Silly Dog Tricks," "As Long As You're Loving Me" music video by Vitamin C, filmographies and the trailer.
Thanks to DVD File for the disc information.
