Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer: The clash of the Kaiju
With two films that have grossed over $1 billion combined, the MonsterVerse is getting ready to move into part three with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The first teaser, starring Millie Bobby Brown, landed a couple of days ago and with the Diego Comic-Con in full swing, Warner Bros. have wet the appetite further with the release of the first official trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. This sits alongside the other trailers released today for Shazam!, Aquaman and Fantastic Beasts 2.
Although, viewers were quick to pick up on the horrible editing in the teaser clip, which saw a camera operator caught in shot, and a blatant continuity error which is instantly noticeable. Still, it's only a teaser and not something to get too upset up about at this stage. Take a look at the first official trailer Godzilla: King of the Monsters above, which doesn't feature any of the problems shown in the first clip.
The story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Directed by Michael Dougherty, the cast stars Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters smashes in US theatres at the end of May 2019, no news on a UK date just yet.
