First Amelie R1 details emerge
Full details are expected next week but for now we have some interesting information on the forthcoming R1 (possibly Canadian Exclusive?) release of Amelie, which will be released April 30th stateside, hot on the heels of the R2 release from Momentum (see here for details).
Coming to us via TVA International there will be 2 releases available. A single disc release will contain the film presented in 2:35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with both DD5.1 and DTS French Soundtracks while the only extra will be an interview with Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. A 2-disc Collectors Edition will be released the same day and will come in some form of special packaging (most likely a digi-pack). Disc one will be identical to that of the standard edition, while disc two is looking to be the same as that found on the French R2 release and will include Trailers, Actor tests, scene breakdowns, galleries and more (see our French R2 review for more on what to expect). As a bonus you will also find some Photo's included in the package, which again is similar to the French R2 release.
Although these details are just preliminary at the moment the main thing missing from the set is a Directors Commentary, which is present on both the French R2 and the announced UK releases. It is however likely (judging by how close to the French edition the R1 sounds) that the commentary will be included, but we will not know until the full details emerge (hopefully) next week.
