Final Birds of Prey trailer: Margot Robbie finds emancipation with a motley crew of anti-heroes
When Margot Robbie isn't being nominated twice in the same category at the BAFTAs (not her fault of course), she is getting ready to launch what Warner Bros. hope will be one of the year's biggest comic book films, Birds of Prey. As we know, there will be no sight of her ex, Joker, in this one, with Jared Leto looking to lend his mediocre presence to the upcoming Morbius film (we expect the trailer for that to arrive within the next week or so). Robbie's film arrives in cinemas two days before the BAFTA awards and one week before the Oscars (which Robbie is also likely to secure a nomination for) so the release date couldn't have been better timed to receive some award season-related shine. Watch the final trailer for Birds of Prey above.
Since the events of Suicide Squad, Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime, and Harley Quinn has left the Joker. When Cassandra Cain, a young girl, comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to help protect her.
Cathy Yan directs (who made her debut with the little seen Dead Pigs) with Margot Robbie leading a supporting cast starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco and Ewan McGregor.
Birds of Prey flies into US and UK cinemas on February 7, 2020.
