Filming has begun for "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2"

Writer/Director James Gunn has announced today that filming has now begun for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2. Not only that but he has also shared some more exciting news including the first set photo and the news of some new cast members.

The new cast members are led by the Legendary Kurt Russell who has been heavily rumored for the role of Star-Lord's father. Other members of the new cast include Elizabeth Debicki (The Man from U.N.C.L.E), Chris Sullivan (The Drop) and Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), who is confirmed to be portraying the green-skinned-and-antennaed martial artist badass, Mantis.

Gunn has also confirmed that all of the cast (except for John C. Reilly) from the first film will be returning. He also said for us not to expect an appearance from the big man Thanos either Guardians Vol. 2 apparently has "other fish to fry".

Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and will open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
