ER Season 5 (R2) in October
Warner Home Video have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of ER: The Complete Fifth Season for 17th October 2005 priced at £44.99. Debuting on DVD and originally broadcast in 1998/99 season five dramatically explores the inner workings of the urban County General teaching hospital and the critical issues faced by the dedicated physicians and staff of its overburdened emergency room.
The Complete Fifth Season on DVD offers fans the chance to relive some of the biggest, most explosive moments in the shows history as the lives, loves and losses of the staff of the fictional County General Hospital, a Level One Trauma Center in Chicago are laid bare.
The internal power struggles between staff for the top posts at the hospital continue as patients include a dynamite-wired assailant with gunshot wounds, a teenage male prostitute, a pregnant woman opting for abortion and children involved in a school bus crash. Carter accidentally hits a teenage boy whilst driving an ambulance through a riot and is distraught when later a paramedic dies from a gunshot wound as he thinks the bullet was meant for him in retaliation.
The ratings winning hospital love affair between Head Nurse Carol Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) and Dr. Doug Ross (George Clooney) ends as he moves across country. It's only after Ross's tearful departure that Hathaway reveals she is pregnant and with twins but is heartbroken once again when Ross refuses to return to Chicago. Two others, Carter (Wyle) and newcomer Lucy Knight (Kellie Martin) begin a new romance and season five witnesses the first kiss between Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards) and Dr. Elizabeth Corday (Alex Kingston).
All 22 episodes from the fifth season are presented in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Stereo audio. No bonus features have been announced.
