Doctor Who: Four To Doomsday in September
The Restoration Team have released details for 2Entertain's forthcoming Classic Who DVD Four to Doomsday, due for release on 15th September. Although it was the second story broadcast starring Peter Davison's Fifth Doctor it was the first to be recorded with the new Doctor at the helm of the Tardis, and is thus a little slice of Who history.
The four parter by Terence Dudley sees the Doctor and his companions Nyssa, Tegan and Adric (Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding and Matthew Waterhouse) battling the Urbankans whose leader Monarch (Stratford Johns) believes he is the divine creator of the entire universe. Featuring dancing androids, two characters called Persuasion and Enlightenment and a sequence in which the Doctor spacewalks wearing nothing more than his cricketing garb, the story, first broadcast in January 1982, is literally as mad as a box of frogs.
The extras will be as follows:
Commentary with Peter Davison, Matthew Waterhouse, Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton and the story's director John Black.
Studio Recording featuring on-the-floor footage from Peter Davison's very first day as the Doctor.
Saturday Night at the Mill Peter Davison's guest slot in this magazine programme from 1980.
Theme Music Video - a new remix of Peter Howell's take of the theme, either in stereo or a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound version.
