Defiance (R1/US BD) in June

Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the US DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Defiance on 2nd June 2009. Based on a true story, Defiance stars Daniel Craig, Live Schreiber and Jamie Bell and is directed by Edward Zwick. The film is an epic tale of family, honour, vengeance and salvation in World War II. The year is 1941 and the Jews of Eastern Europe are being massacred by the thousands. Managing to escape certain death, three brothers take refuge in the dense surrounding woods they have known since childhood. There they begin their dangerous and bloody battle against the Nazis.

Edward Zwick and his creative team discuss some of the challenges and also the rewards of adapting this well-documented historical event into a feature film.

On DVD the film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with English, French and Spanish audio (DD5.1 Surround) and subtitle options. On Blu-ray the film is presented in 1080P Widescreen with English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, French and Spanish DD5.1 Surround and English, English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. The extras are all presented in HD.
