Director Todd Haynes’ new film has high hopes of some Oscar love
Based on the true story of environmental defence attorney Robert Bilott, director Todd Haynes’ new film, Dark Waters, tells the story of how he took on the might on one of the world’s largest chemical companies in DuPont. It’s the sort of big button issue film that will have hopes of muscling in on the awards conversation and given its environmental angle (a little reminiscent of Erin Brockovich) and having Anne Hathaway on-board, it could stand an outside chance. Dark Waters opens in the US on November 22 and in the UK on January 24.
