Danny Boyle is no longer directing Bond 25
In what always seemed to be something of an ill-fit, it has been announced that Danny Boyle will no longer helm Bond 25 due to "creative differences". The next instalment in the 007 series was due to start filming later this year but with no immediate replacement lined-up that could now be delayed.
The news was announced a short while ago via the official James Bond Twitter feed:

There's no way of knowing just yet if this was an amicable parting of the ways or if there was some serious drama going on behind the scenes. In time we're sure that will leak out but for now it's back to the drawing board for Daniel Craig's final hurrah as the secret agent.
Discussion has been heating up again recently about the next Bond following Idris Elba's comments but this now becomes a far more pressing issue. Names like Christopher Nolan, Martin Campbell (Golden Eye and Casino Royale) and Sam Mendes are being tossed around, but as long as it isn't Ron Howard it should be in good hands.
