Damsel trailer: Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska head out West

Twilight. That's the obligatory mention of the franchise mentioned in every article featuring Robert Pattinson out of the way. After his immersive performances in The Lost City of Z and Good Time the talent everyone thought was there has started to emerge and his new film, Damsel, picked up good reviews after first appearing at Sundance at the start of the year. The first trailer for Damsel appeared online not too long ago and you can check it out above right now.

Samuel Alabaster (Pattinson), an affluent pioneer, ventures across the American Frontier to marry the love of his life, Penelope (Wasikowska). As Samuel traverses the Wild West with a drunkard named Parson Henry and a miniature horse called Butterscotch, their once-simple journey grows treacherous, blurring the lines between hero, villain and damsel.

David Zellner (responsible for the wonderful Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter) teams up with his brother Nathan Zellner to direct, write and star in the film, with Robert Forster also appearing in the cast.

Damsel is scheduled for a June release in the US but nothing yet for the UK.
