Cinderella Diamond Edition (US) in October

Disney have announced the US DVD and Blu-ray release of Cinderella (Diamond Edition) on 2 October 2012. The next title to join the Diamond Edition line-up has been announced in typical fashion, meaning they've given a date but not told us very much about what will be on the discs other than promising a lovely new presentation and plenty of new and old bonus features.

We do have some tech specs though...

Presented in 1080P 1.78:1* the Blu-ray will include a new 7.1 DTS-HD MA track alongside the original theatrical mix 1.0 DTS-HD MA track. Subtitles will be available in English, French and Spanish.

*We know this is wrong and suspect it is likely a mistake on the press release. The trailer below shows the film in its correct 1.33:1 format.

Cinderella Diamond Edition will be available as a 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack ($44.99, BD + DVD + Digital Copy) and 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack ($39.99, BD + DVD). They've also provided artwork for a 1-Disc DVD release but don't actually mention it on the press release.

There is also a collectible 6-Disc Jewelry Box Set ($89.99) which includes Cinderella Blu-ray, plus Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True/Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time on a single Blu-ray along with DVD version of each film and a Digital Copy of Cinderella.

And Amazon.com seem to know what the extras will be...

DVD

  • "Tangled Ever After” Animated Short
  • Behind the Magic: A New Disney Princess Fantasyland
  • Diane Disney Miller Intro

Blu-ray Same as DVD plus:
  • Personalized Digital Storybook: Bibbidi-Bobbidi-You (Disney Second Screen Experience)
  • The Magic of the Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story
  • DisneyView
  • Classic DVD Bonus
