Check out this year's BFI London Film Festival’s full line-up

If you’re a film fan or a Londoner, this is the time of year to be excited. In fact, you’re not a Londoner, now’s the time to start planning a trip because BFI have announced the full line-up of this year’s London Film Festival. Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the role of Alan Turing in the Opening Gala with The Imitation Game on 8 October, while the Closing Gala film will be WWII drama Fury (with Brad Pitt and Shia LaBoeuf sharing a tank). In between, there will 243 more features and 148 shorts.imageThe London Film Festival is a great chance to catch Oscar hopefuls months in advance, or experimental arthouse releases that might be shown on the big screen again. Personally, I’m especially excited for Xavier Dolan’s 1:1 aspect ratio melodrama Mommy, jazz drummer drama Whiplash and Gregg Araki’s mysterious White Bird in a Blizzard. There’s so much to choose from. Seriously. Foxcatcher, Tokyo Tribe, Goodbye to Language, Mr Turner and so many more.Tickets go on sale on 10 September for BFI Champions, 11 September for BFI Members, and 18 September for the general public. The full programme and ticket information can be found here.
