Poke her, we dare you.
After already grabbing the bull by the horror horns with the first official look at Carrie a few weeks back, the publicity for the upcoming remake has begun in the form of a brand new Facebook page for Carrietta White.
Thankfully, there’s a fair few likes for the page (we can’t imagine her to get many friend requests, weird recluse and all) but there’s an interesting picture of Carrie’s tattered birth certificate (which just happens to show the same date of birth as her creator, Stephen King). As you can see there’s no name for the girl’s father or the doctor that was there at her birth but you can bet all will be revealed when the film arrives next year.
For those that might be unfamiliar with the original Brian De Palma classic, Carrie tells the story of a young girl who is a social outcast at her school and humiliated by her peers on a daily basis. All of this comes to a dramatic and horrifying close on the night of her senior prom, when Carrie retaliates via her untamed and secret telekinetic powers.
With Boys Don’t Cry director, Kimberly Peirce at the helm and top-notch talents of Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore playing Carrie and her mad mother added in, this could be a remake that could go where few other remakes have gone before and actually be good. We can only wait and see but at the moment, word is that a teaser trailer should be making an appearance quite soon, so do keep an eye out for any other activity on the page in the meantime.
