Brilliant But Cancelled TV Series in May

Universal Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of two releases as part of a new line looking to give cancelled TV series a new lease of life. Available from 16th May 2006 and priced at $19.98 SRP each, these releases are sadly far from comprehensive, offering just selected episodes from the shows being covered...

Brilliant But Cancelled: Crime Dramas - From the producers of Hill Street Blues (Steven Bocho), Columbo (Everett Chambers) and Law & Order (Dick Wolf) and starring the likes of Judd Hirsch, Jeffrey Donovan, John Cassavetes and Louis Gossett Jr., this set includes a single episode from four different suspense-filled dramas including Delvecchio, Gideon Oliver, Johnny Staccato and Touching Evil.

Brilliant But Cancelled: EZ Streets - This critically acclaimed crime show starring Ken Olin, Joe Pantoliano and Jason Gedrick took a unique approach to an over-mined genre by telling a singular story from three different perspectives over the course of the season. Each of the men's stories are organically intertwined in this complex series that some critics deemed "simply too good for TV."

From writer-director Paul Haggis this set features three original episodes, including the two-hour pilot.

There is an Official Website in progress, which should be updated closer to the release.
