Boxman are no more

Reports have started coming in that UK media retailer Boxman have filed for voluntary liquidation. The company - famous in DVD circles for their mispricing of certain DVDs and remarkably poor customer service, has been struggling for some time and they finally suspended their web site operations earlier this week.

The closure follows an abandoned floatation attempt back in April which would have secured funds to continue their expansion. There are rumours that their could be a buyer on the horizon, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.

I wish I could say this is a shame, but given their past record Boxman never really appeared to be a company that had the neccessary understanding of the market to succeed.
[ UPDATE: I received an e-mail from one of Boxman's employees today and I'd like to stress that I have every sympathy those who worked for Boxman and are likely to now be out of work and as I have stated on many occasions, no-one ever had any complaint with the staff themselves. ]
