Boxing Day in March

Boxing Day, the new drama from acclaimed filmmaker Bernard Rose (Candyman, Paperhouse, Mr Nice) starring Danny Huston will be available on UK DVD from 25th March thanks to Independent Distribution.

Basil, a struggling, indebted businessman, leaves his family immediately after Christmas to pursue a lucrative property deal that could solve all his problems: buying foreclosed properties from banks at a fraction of their market value, refurbishing them for a minimum cost, and then selling them for a quick and substantial profit.

He hires a local chauffeur (Matthew Jacobs) to drive him around the mountainous area but, as night sets in, their car is trapped on an icy road and the men face an uncertain fate.

Based on the novel Master and Man by Leo Tolstoy, Boxing Day follows ivansxtc and The Kreutzer Sonata as the third film in a series of a modern day interpretations of Tolstoy stories by Rose.

Extras will include an audio commentary by Rose, Huston and Jacobs plus trailers for all three Tolstoy adaptations.
