Blue Water White Death (R2) in July

Revolver Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Blue Water White Death on 21st July 2008 priced at £15.99. This documentary follows adventurer Peter Gimbel and his crew of underwater specialists as they search for the most dangerous predator in the world, the elusive Great White Shark.

Underwater photojournalist and filmmaker Peter Gimbel left the world of investment banking after ten years to become an explorer. In 1956 he became the first person to scuba dive to the Andrea Doria and in 1963 led an 89-day mission into the unexplored Vilcabamba Range in the Peruvian Andes. In 1971, his fascination with the Great White Shark led him to write, produce, direct and photograph Blue Water, White Death which was the first cinematic filming of a Great White. Peter Gimbel died of cancer in 1987 at the age of 59.

The documentary has been digitally remastered for this release and comes with the following features:

  • 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • English DD2.0
  • Commentary from the underwater crew (Stan Waterman, Ron Taylor, Valerie Taylor and Rodney Fox)
  • “Diving into Blue Water, White Death” featurette (23:55mins)
