BlacKkKlansman’s John David Washington scores lead in next Christopher Nolan film
Star of 2018’s Oscar-nominated BlacKkKlansman John David Washington is set to take the lead in director Christopher Nolan’s next film, slated for a July 2020 release from Warner Bros
Variety reports that while details on the film remain scarce, Nolan has recently finished the script and rumours peg it as another innovative action blockbuster from the Dunkirk and Interstellar director.
Washington, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Ron Stallworth in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, had an early introduction to the film industry through his father, legendary actor Denzel Washington. His break into acting came with the HBO series Ballers, where his talents as a professional football player went to good use.
There are further reports that Robert Pattinson is set to co-star alongside Washington, with an older male co-star also due to sign up. Production on the untitled Nolan project, which is to be co-produced by Nolan and his partner Emma Thomas, is set to begin later this year.
A release date for the yet untitled project has already been set for July 17 2020.
