Black Widow has a writer in Jac Schaeffer

The highly anticipated Black Widow movie might finally be making some progress now that Collider are reporting that TiMER writer Jac Schaeffer has been enlisted by Marvel to write the script.

Marvel have been heavily criticised in the past for not having produced a woman-led superhero film; and the pressure has only increased since the phenomenal box office AND critical success of Wonder Woman in spite of all of the other problems in the Warner DC series of films.

Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow has been a staple of the Marvel film universe since her debut in Iron Man 2 and the fact that she hadn't been given the lead role in any film yet has played support multiple times since has been increasingly baffling so we're glad to see Johansson will finally get a chance to take centre stage.

Schaeffer most recently has been working on Nasty Women, the woman-led reboot of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels which will star Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson.
